I\u00a0stopped by Kakizaki Store in Yoichi on my way back from Otaru to Niseko.
Kakizaki Store in Yoichi is a great stop if you are traveling from Sapporo to Niseko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is about 1 hour and 15 minutes by car from Sapporo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This place is well known for cheap and fresh seafood.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I bought crab, scallops, salmon, and hokke (Atka mackerel).<\/p>\n\n\n\n


About Kakizaki Store<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Kakizaki Store is a local seafood market where you can find a wide variety of fresh seafood at reasonable prices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is popular with both locals and tourists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inside feels like a lively local market, and the atmosphere is energetic and authentic.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Friendly staff quickly pack seafood, which adds to the experience.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This place feels very local, and most of the customers are locals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

English support is limited, so it may be helpful to use simple words or gestures, or even Google Translate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Is It Crowded?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It was not crowded at all on a weekday afternoon.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

However, it can be very crowded on weekends and during the summer season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


In summer, fresh sea urchin (uni) is also available, which attracts more visitors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Restaurat on the Second Floor<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There is a restaurant on the second floor that is very popular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Usually, there is a long line, especially on weekends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When I visited, it was not busy, but I had already eaten lunch, so I didn\u2019t go in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Parking Tips<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

There are parking spaces next to the building and also behind it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I usually park in the back and enter through the rear entrance.
<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Credit cards are accepted, so you don\u2019t need to worry about carrying cash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


What I Bought<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I bought crab, scallops, salmon, and hokke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everything was fresh and reasonably priced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The hairy crab was about \u00a53,300 (around $22), and the scallops (about 600g) were \u00a51,850 (around $12).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both were much cheaper than what you would find in Niseko.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

You can find seafood here at prices that are hard to find in tourist areas.

If you want to avoid crowds, visiting on a weekday is highly recommended.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
