After walking around the Otaru Canal area, I stopped by Toppi, a popular conveyor belt sushi chain in Hokkaido.
The restaurant is located near Otaru Canal, making it an easy place to visit during sightseeing in Otaru. There is also a parking lot, which is convenient if you are traveling by car.
I visited on a weekday evening, and there was no waiting time. The atmosphere felt casual and comfortable, making it easy to stop by without needing a reservation.
One thing that stood out to me was the ordering system. The tablet menu had English support, which made the restaurant feel accessible for international visitors as well. I also noticed some Asian staff members working there, giving the restaurant a welcoming atmosphere.

Seasonal Sushi Recommendations
One of the seasonal recommendations during my visit was fatty sardine sushi, which is especially popular in spring. The fish tasted fresh and rich without being too heavy.

I also tried tuna sushi, crab miso, and shrimp miso soup. Everything felt fresh and satisfying, especially after walking around Otaru.

The prices were reasonable for a tourist area in Hokkaido. For two people, the total was around 5,000 yen, and we were able to try several different dishes.
Easy Sushi Spot for Otaru Sightseeing
Toppi is not a luxury sushi restaurant, but that is part of its appeal. It is a casual and comfortable place where you can enjoy local seafood without feeling too formal or expensive.
Because it is close to Otaru Canal, it is an easy stop during sightseeing, especially if you want a relaxed meal after exploring the area.
