I stayed at Grand Park Otaru again during my latest trip to Otaru. After my previous stay, I knew it would be a comfortable and convenient place to stay.
About Grand Park Otaru
Grand Park Otaru is directly connected to Otaru-Chikko Station, making it very easy to access.
The hotel is part of Wing Bay Otaru, which includes shops like MUJI and AEON.
This makes it very convenient if you forget something—you can easily buy what you need without leaving the building.
There are also many souvenir shops, restaurants, and cafes, so you don’t have to walk outside in cold weather.
It is also easy to reach Otaru Canal from the hotel.

Room & Stay Experience

This time, I stayed in a mountain-view room.
There was an option to upgrade to a sea-view room for around ¥3,000, but I chose to keep it budget-friendly.

The hotel itself is not brand new, but it is clean, well-maintained, and has a luxurious atmosphere.
⸻
No Onsen, But Nearby Option
Unlike Dormy Inn Otaru, this hotel does not have a hot spring.
However, there is a 24-hour hot spring facility called Otaru Onsen Ospa just 5 minutes away by car.
Hotel guests can use it at a discounted price.
It is also possible to stay overnight there, although the accommodation style is very simple.

Dinner at Wing Bay Otaru
For dinner, I went to a conveyor belt sushi restaurant inside Wing Bay Otaru.
It is usually crowded on weekends, but since I visited on a weekday, I didn’t have to wait.
Some items were sold out in the evening, but the seafood was still very fresh and delicious.
There is also a KFC in the mall. It may sound ordinary, but they sometimes have Japan-only menu items, so it can be fun to check.
⸻
Late Night Snack

Even after sushi, I couldn’t resist trying “Zangi” (Hokkaido-style fried chicken) at another restaurant in the mall.(Narutoya)
It was really good—but definitely too much food.
⸻
Price & Best Timing
During this season, hotel prices are relatively affordable.
This makes it a great time to stay if you want good value for money.
⸻
Worth a Visit ?
Grand Park Otaru is a very convenient hotel, especially because it is directly connected to the station and a large shopping mall.
It is a great base for sightseeing in Otaru, especially during colder months.
